Office/2009

This is an open-office built for a well-established advertising company. The idea of collapsing public and private space lies at the heart of this project. This office is designed to dialogue with the outside, and flip the gaze to interrogate who constitutes “the public.” It is also an office that is built to reflect the employees who work in it, rather than the clients it services; the Madras-checked chair fabric, which is linked to a personal story, is an example of this. Locally sourced materials were used to add a sense of comfort, character, and simplicity to the space.
