The Studio was commissioned to design an office for a client in the business of call centers. This was a chance to again, play with the idea of democratic design, but this time within a professional setting. This open office is designed to distill hierarchy, and negate the consequences of working (long) irregular hours, particularly faced by call center workers. The Studio makes several interventions here: the lighting is designed to mimic natural day light, the long tables are made to bring out a sense of equality between workers, and the chairs are selected to ensure utmost comfort for long shifts. Art that references aviation also brightens up the space, being the main industry with which this business engages.
