This private residence is the Studio’s take on the classic, red brick house. The design also marks an innovation in courtyard architecture. The residence, divided into four courtyards, is carefully designed with movement, both through the day and climatic seasons in mind. For instance, it features a winter courtyard, and two entertaining spaces meant to be enjoyed at different times of the day. With the overall design goal of making voids into central spaces, the house combines a sense of softness with the industrial, and personal with the social.
